Blake Shahan
BY GRAYSON MILLER, ENN REPORTER
Blake Austin Shahan is a member of the 2026 senior class. He is the son of Denis and the late Amelia Shahan of Hurdland. During high school, Blake participated in basketball, football, track and field, baseball and the Kirksville Vo-Tech program.
Art teacher Mrs. Luisa Cardwell was Blake’s favorite teacher because “She was always there for me when classes got tough, and if I needed to step back and take a break, she provided me with a safe place.” “Funny, hardworking and goofy” are three words that Blake uses to describe himself. Outside of school, he enjoys repairing old cars and trucks, and one thing he is looking forward to after graduation is heading off to basic training.
Blake’s future plans are to attend Basic Training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C., and Advanced Individual Training in Virginia to become a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He would ultimately like to get his CDL and drive a truck for the local rock quarry. In 10 years, Blake sees himself “living in a big house, having lots of land and owning really fast cars.”
