Senior Spotlights highlight the Class of 2021 seniors. Riley Nicole Strange is the daughter of Staci and Alan Rimer and Jeff Strange. She has been involved in softball,  basketball, FBLA,  National Honor Society, Drama Club, and Spanish Club.

Strange’s favorite teacher is science teacher Ms. Dale. Strange says, “She is very laid-back and we share very similar personalities.” Her favorite school memories were all of the pep rallies and school activities before Covid-19.

She is most proud of her softball team's accomplishments during her sophomore year softball season. The team made it to the state tournament and placed third. "This accomplishment had never been achieved at Knox County before and it was amazing to share in this historical moment," she said.

Strange says three words to describe her are independent, bossy, and caring. She has had many people support her over the years, however, the most influential person in her life is her mom. "She always encourages me to do better," she says.  "My mom is definitely my best friend and she has supported me through everything that I have done. She took me to camps, traveled hours and hours for softball, and was cheering in the stands every single game."

Her future plans are to attend Quincy University, study Human Services, and play basketball.  In 10 years, she sees herself working in the counseling profession and living close to Knox County.
