On July 1st, Senior, Blake Shahan took the Oath of Enlistment at the National Guard Armory in Macon, MO. This oath is a legally binding commitment to serve in the armed forces. Blake plans to serve in the Army National Guard. Next summer, after he graduates from high school, Blake will complete Army BCT (Basic Combat Training). Following BCT, he will complete Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in diesel mechanics. Blake plans to use this training to pursue a career as a mechanic. Congratulations, Blake!

Please give a great big Eagle welcome to Ms. Ryan Dooley as our newest elementary teacher! Ms. Dooley graduated from Culver-Stockton College with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and a minor in Special Education and Child Advocacy. She worked as a lead teacher in an autism classroom at Abilities First in Ohio. Welcome Ms. Dooley!
John Brown will join our teaching staff after a 28 year military career and supporting our district as a substitute teacher for the last several years. Mr. Brown is also an umpire in his free time. Mr. Brown will be teaching HS Communication Arts. Welcome, Mr. Brown!

The Girls on the Move raised $800 from the spring Color Run 5K! They voted on a cause to support and decided they wanted to donate to Floki the Professional Therapy Dog. CARES, Inc. out of Kansas helps train and find placement for therapy dogs around the country. The girls are hoping this donation will help Floki's brothers and sisters find good homes where they can help other people. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Color Run!
